Orio al Serio Airport is the third busiest airport in Italy by number of passengers after Rome Fiumicino Airport and Malpensa Airport.
It is located 5 Km south-east of Bergamo and 50 Km north-east of Milan. Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport is mainly used by low cost airlines and it is also Ryanair’s third base by destinations after Dublin and London Stansted.
How to reach Milan city centre from Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport
The Airport Bus Express is definitely the fastest and cheapest way to reach Milan city centre from Bergamo International Airport. Shuttle buses are easily recognizable thanks to the “Autostradale” logotype clearly visible along the bus body.
All passengers can carry bag and backpack on board whilst hand baggage and hold baggage must be stow in the luggage compartment. All coaches are air-conditioned and equipped with free Wi-Fi.
Where to take the shuttle bus
Bus stop at Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport is situated just in front of Arrivals, at numbers 2-3-4.
The bus stop in Milan city centre is in Piazza Luigi Savoia 1, next to Milan Central Railway Station. If you are travelling to/from here by underground, simply get off at “Centrale” on M2 (green) and M3 (yellow) lines.
Then, the Milan Pass is the best way to get around the city by public transport. It is valid for 48 hours and it also includes the entrance to attractions such as Duomo Cathedral Rooftop terraces, La Scala Museum and Theatre, Casa Milan, Triennale Design Museum and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

When to take the shuttle bus
There are dozens of bus connections every day between Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport and Milan Central Station, with 1 or 2 services per hour from 4 am to 12 pm. Please note departure schedules can change depending on the period of the year and the frequency of the flights.

The duration of the journey between Orio al Serio Airport and Milan Central Station is around 50-60 minutes.

- 10 €, one-way;
- 18 €, round trip (save 2 €);
- 5 €, one-way trip for children from 2 to 12 years old;
- free of charge for children under 2 years old.
