Then, thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/vienna-l7\/vienna-city-card-your-tourist-ticket-incl-discountsmetro-t695898\/?partner_id=T8F8PZB&amp;utm_medium=online_publisher&amp;cmp=ViennaCityCardENG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>Vienna City Card with 72 hours validity<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, I was able to <strong>travel for free<\/strong> for the entire duration of my stay.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">8 unusual things to do in Vienna: visit the Palace of Justice and its panoramic terrace<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Located a <strong>five-minute walk from the MuseumQuartier<\/strong>, one of the <strong>largest cultural areas in the world<\/strong> and stretching along the western &#8216;border&#8217; of the Old Town, the <strong>Palace of Justice<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Justizpalast<\/em> in German &#8211; is an <strong>architectural gem unknown even to many Viennese inhabitants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Erected between <strong>1875-1871<\/strong> by Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I, it was damaged during World War II. The building is famous for two main reasons.<\/p>\n<p>The first is the presence of the <strong>crypt<\/strong>, where around <strong>4.000 people are buried<\/strong>, including <strong>Pietro Metastasio<\/strong>, the man who wrote librettos for Mozart&#8217;s operas. In addition, meetings of the newly founded <strong>Psychological Society<\/strong> were held in the consulting room.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freud family moved to London in June 1939<\/strong> following the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany and brought much of the furniture with them. The building also hosts <strong>temporary exhibitions<\/strong> as well as a <strong>meeting space for creatives and artists<\/strong> discussing sustainability, climate change, recycling and the quality of life in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Take pictures inside is not permitted.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>fa\u00e7ade<\/strong> is an integral part of the Hundertwasser Museum as it consists of glass, metal, brick and wood elements as well as colourful ceramic tiles.<\/p>\n<p>Visiting the Kunst Haus is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/vienna-l7\/vienna-pass-all-of-vienna-on-one-card-t50028\/?partner_id=T8F8PZB&amp;utm_medium=online_publisher&amp;cmp=ViennaPassEn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>free for Vienna Pass holders<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, while City Card holders receive a 30% discount.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in the area at <strong>lunchtime<\/strong>, I suggest <strong>Kolonitz Beisl<\/strong>, a historic inn where you can eat traditional viennese dishes at reasonable prices (cheaper than in the city centre). Here, the <strong>artist Edwin Lipburger<\/strong> built a spherical house with a diameter of 8 m without any permit claiming that his was not a permanent dwelling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Condemned to ten years in jail<\/strong>, Lipburger avoided his conviction thanks to the intervention of the Austrian president.
